Today’s flight is in what is arguably the best 787 business class on the planet. Of course, it’s Singapore Airlines’s 787-10, which incidentally enough has lowest amount of business class seats in the fleet after the A380s. These aircraft are largely used on popular routes throughout Asia, e.g. SIN-SGN, SIN-NRT, SIN-CMB, SIN-MNL, as well as to a couple Australian cities, namely Perth and Adelaide. However, Perth has recently upgauged to the A350-900, leaving the capital of South Australia as the only current destination in the Great Southern Land for the big Boeing.

Parked at Gate 20. Soon, Singapore won’t be the only Star Alliance carrier flying the 787 into Adelaide, as United will be beginning non-stop service from San Francisco this winter with the 787-9.
Sounds/looks weird having a Singapore 787-10 at Adelade (no offence but of all places…) Though they do have an awkward sprinkle of international flights (comparing to amount of Domestic).
Nah, I wouldn’t say weird, we haven’t had a SQ Boeing service to Adelaide for years, it has mainly been the A330/A350 until 2023! A lot of the international routes were operated by Airbus aircraft, except for NAN-ADL, CAN-ADL most recently and DXB-ADL.
It’s just the 787-10 right now, but before 2023 it was the A350-900 and before 2018 it was the A330-300. Lastly, before 2009 it was the 747-200 and 777-200ER
They also get 777-200LRs from Emirates and Qatar Airways, and China Southern is coming back with either the 787-8 or 787-9. Plus, given Singapore’s significant presence in the Australian market, it’s not that surprising they’d fly to Adelaide. Now if they flew to Alice Springs, Darwin, or Hobart, then I’d be surprised.
