Simulator time flow while Away

A while ago I had set up a flight KMLI-KORD… On Expert. Usually it’s about 40 minutes total. I had gotten up to cruise altitude, was fully LNAV with about 30 minutes to TOD.

Household plans changed, I put my phone in my pocket, and it was about an hour later that I switched back to IF. My flight was about 28 minutes to TOD… Proceeded to finish the flight completely normally.

Everything I’ve read says that the plane will continue along the flight path until I return or it runs out of fuel.

What’s going on?

If you close the app for more than a few seconds, it disconnects you from live and sort of pauses the flight until you press resume, unless the os closes the app itself for whatever reason.

The only thing that did this to me while I was playing are device and government warnings (tornado warning, flash flood, amber, low battery, low storage, etc).

So overnight flights involve a device running IF the entire time… Hmmm. Hard to do when my IF device is my primary phone. Ah, well

I’ve used my primary phone for overnight flights for years, as I usually don’t want to use it while I’m sleeping. ;)

thats why i use a iPad and not a phone to play IF
