SimBrief Throttle settings integration.

The current integration with SimBrief is a major step forward for flight planning in Infinite Flight, allowing us to quickly import routes, fuel, and payload. However, I’ve seen many ask “What N1% should I take off at?” Currently, pilots must manually estimate or guess their takeoff N1,


Proposed Feature:
Add an optional setting to allow SimBrief thrust data (N1%) to be imported directly into Infinite Flight.

Setting Name:
“Import SimBrief Thrust Data”

When enabled, the simulator would:

  • Import calculated Takeoff N1%
  • Set TO/GA or FLEX detent to calculated N1 data.

Throttle Detents Implementation:
Introduce realistic throttle detents that act as mode selectors, not direct thrust controls:

  • TO/GA (Takeoff/Go-Around): Commands maximum takeoff thrust
  • FLEX (Assumed Temperature): Commands reduced thrust based on SimBrief data
  • CLB (Climb): Used after thrust reduction altitude

User Interface / Behavior:

  • Detents only appear when lined up on the runway (hidden during taxi for cleanliness)
  • On-screen indication of:
    • Active detent (TO/GA, FLEX, CLB)
    • Target N1% in blue above current N1%
  • Option to toggle detent visuals ON/OFF in settings

Autothrottle (A/T) Expansion:
-Improved autothrottle that doesn’t go max N1 just to speed up by 10 kts.

  • Interprets detent position and weight and commands thrust accordingly
  • Uses imported SimBrief data to set target N1%
  • Enables realistic takeoff workflow:
    1. Load SimBrief plan
    2. Line up on runway → detents become available
    3. Select FLEX or TO/GA
    4. Aircraft automatically targets correct N1%

Uhh, this sound like something you need proper Autothrottle/ Autothrust simulation for. I’m going to redirect you to this link because its sounds like something you may want to add there.

This is kinda similar, but it doesn’t calculate N1 from SimBrief.

Yeah, but I’m saying your topic sounds like something that could be added to that existing topic. You’re going to need an autothrottle to collect that sort of data and tell the aircraft how much power (N1) it should be given, which is kida what that topc is touching on…just not the part about SimBrief.

IF aircraft have too much power for this to be a thing, you’d use less than half the runway on most planes

I concur. We need the aircraft to have correct power values before we can go any further into the autopilot/FMS world
