Simbrief take off performance question

Hello guys simbreif generally use flex take of to calculate its speeds but please is there a way. I change it from flex to toga because on infinite flight I don’t think a flex take of can be done

There’s unfortunately no way to “Force TOGA” in Simbrief’s Performance Tools.

Both the A380 and 737 MAX have detailed guides here on the forum which include N1% values for different weight brackets along with how that N1% value may differ depending on a few factors:

There is also this website which gives an approximate N1 value - just enter in the aircraft and weight %. You can use a combination of the website and the N1 adjustment tables in the guides above to come up with a takeoff N1 value.

There is. Simply disable the option for FLEX/ATM and it will automatically give you the speeds and distances calculated with TO/GA.

26K TO will give an N1 of approximately 100.3% here.

So this means I’ve to use full throttle power ? Or 90% thrust is also considered toga ?

I don’t understand this chart

IF model is overpowered than irl so it will be around 92% (my estimation). You shouldn’t use toga unless for ultra long hauls you roll too quickly which can affect the realism if you’re interested. You can use flaps 2 for toga so it can increase drag.

Yes when I’m over 55% weight I should use toga right. ?but below I’ve to use a lower thrust setting ??

Well 55% is not a ultra long flight so flex but you can use toga but at flaps 2 so it will increase drag (not recommended) which might help for a more gentle roll. Toga is used for mainly flights near TOW or above 80% payload with flaps 1+ config.

Ok so 70% load isn’t toga ?

Not in most cases unless the runway is not enough or bad weather.

So can simbreif determine all this ?

Yes. Simbrief takes runway length and conditions into account when determining what thrust setting to use.

TO/GA isn’t one specific thrust setting. The actual maximum selectable takeoff power will depend on external factors (as in the table I sent above) and on the actual engine of the aircraft itself.

You won’t get anywhere close to 100% N1 at TO/GA with some aircraft; whereas with others the maximum attainable N1% on takeoff can exceed 110%. Again, however, the specific values depend on environmental factors.

Explain further please Nk’s I’m lost and confused how do I know the thrust % to use for toga on particular flight !

I linked a website earlier on - again linked here which gives you an approximate N1 value for an aircraft and weight config. We don’t have TOGA/FLEX settings in Infinite Flight so I would just ignore that. Focus on the actual N1 value.

Ok so which means the performance tools on simbreif shouldn’t be used for take of ? On infinite flight

You can use Simbrief’s takeoff performance tool for things like V-Speeds, etc…

Ok so what I’m asking is should I always set it to toga or I should leave it as flex because when it’s on flex it calculates v speeds for the flex take of

just ignore TOGA/FLEX - use the website I linked plus the charts in the guides for adjusting the N1 value based on weather conditions. that’s good enough 99% of the time.

I just wouldn’t recommend following the speeds in that website (especially for the 777s) and the thrust settings for the A380 especially - they are way too high.
