SimBrief/IF SIDS/STARS

Alright so I’ve had this problem for a while and it’s never really bothered me but I decided I might as well speak up about it right now, and I’m sure my other SimBrief users will agree. So sometimes the SIDS/STARS SimBrief uses does not match the ones in IF. Such as at London Heathrow, the UMLA1G departure has way different waypoints on IF than it does on SimBrief, and sometimes they have different names too. Usually I just can’t use the SID/STAR SimBrief provides and have to manually type out the waypoints. Sometimes even I have to end my flight because of it. Does anyone know if this is because SimBrief or IF is out of date? Does anyone know a fix to this?

The reason I’m saying this is because I’m gonna fly LHR-ORD today and need to make sure the SimBrief SID will work.

Yes the simbrief data is outdated but I have found a hack for the Sid’s and stars. First choose your sid from the airport then paste you flight plan and delete the extra Sid waypoints then choose your star and approach then delete the extra waypoints. I can send you a video of me doing it on Discord

I usually just amend my flight plan from simbrief and what the sim provides. The FREE version of simbrief provides outdated data. You have to subscribe for up to date info.

The free version of Simbrief is out of date by a month or so, as well as IF Navdata is outdated by typically more than a year outside of the United States. You should be referencing charts when looking at these departure and arrival procedures as well, not all of them are RNAV fix to fix. Many of them are also DME based which have curves that aren’t implemented in IF and won’t be shown on the map when you select them.

Hello,

File your flight through simbrief.com for statistical information such as exact altitudes, NOTAM’s etc. Then, file though https://fpltoif.com/ which will give you an updated route and V-Speeds. Additionally, for the most immersive experience you should ensure the STAR’s and SID’s match the in real life procedure charts which can be found online.
In the case you cannot use SimBrief, simply pull up the SID’s and STAR charts then utilize IFR airways (J-Routes, Q-Routes etc.) within RSVM airspace.

Hope this helps.

It’s infinite flight data. Prior to a navigraph sub I ran into this problem

Well, I can’t get it to generate a FPL so I just don’t use it.

Thanks for the help you guys. I have always been a SimBrief guy as some may know, and I think I’m gonna stick with if for now, and manually type in the waypoints if the SID/STAR is wrong. Thanks for all the help.
