Hey IFC I’ve got a question 🤔
Once I am able to use the expert server is it advised that I do use SimBrief?
As in that I have to use it? or I can just file a flight plan through the map in the HUD
Please let me know as I have seen a lot of people using SimBrief but I don’t have the funds to subscribe to it as well as IF Pro

You don’t need to subscribe to Simbrief. The free version is good enough the vast majority of the time.
You don’t have to use Simbrief but it can be useful particularly if you are often flying into the daily hubs where procedures are often recommended to use. Plus using Simbrief helps ensure you have an efficient routing in terms of winds, etc…

To me, simbrief is an absolute gamechanger. As a person who uses flightradar to closely replicate real world routes and waypoints, it’s never been easier to copy the actual waypoints using simbrief. All I do is choose a flight in FR24, go to simbrief, type in some info, then choose the route that best matches what is shown in FR24. I can guarantee you that 99.9% of the time, Simbrief WILL have that exact route shown on FR24. This is due to the fact that it’s got multiple options like real world routes, routes created by simbrief, and even vatism.
I remember when the simbrief integration wasn’t a thing and I had to manually pinpoint with my bare eyes what waypoint is shown on the map 💀 I had to estimate most of the time, but with simbrief, it’s the exact waypoints.
As a person with OCD (actually diagnosed unlike others lol) who wants every flight of mine to be perfect, simbrief is the way to go.
10/10 recommend.

Is it possible though to not use SimBrief but use the SIDS bad STARS procedures in IF as some routes follow different waypoints out of the airport
Edit: Because I’m 14 my mum doesn’t like me signing up for stuff

I don’t usually use Sim brief for my flight plans but almost always I use SIDs and STARs for departures and arrivals. Everything else on the way I do myself.

Hello! It’s a great tool to use on expert server to have the most accurate realistic procedures, because it copies real life flight plans sometimes. However, pilots make flight plans themselves. A good tool I use to look at jetways is FltPlan.go, it’s really fun and easy to use. Feel free to PM me for a tutorial!
I also like to do real routes. Lately on free days, I take the aircraft prefix and see what the route is for the day. The more I am available, I make the route in the real time.
