Silver Airways, who operates Saab 340Bs, has ordered 16 ATR 42-600s, along with 4 ATR 72-600s.

Here’s what the aircraft could end up looking like:

ATR says they welcome Silver Airways into the family, and are glad to see that their aircraft will continue to fly in the US

I’m personally happy to hear this as I live near KTPA, where Silver Airways flys into. I also love the ATR fleet in a whole, so it’ll be nice to finally see one!

I like it. I see these island hopping in the Pacific on Flightradar24 all the time.

They’re also operated by BahamasAir, mostly into KMIA. Didn’t get to see one while I was down there unfortunately.

This is nice for short-haul flights. Wonder how much revenue will be brought in via these ATRs.

Will be great to see in Tampa, and maybe all them to open up more route options around the Caribbean.

It will be great to see more ATRs operating in the US! I’m especially excited about the 72-600 in this livery.

It was announced in August but wasn’t firm. Also originally was supposed to be 50 ATRs
