I noticed that some Sid/stars are inaccurate. such as Frankfurt airport. Why does the approach make me do like a back and forth thing. In real life they do not use that approach.
That is the published approach for Frankfurt Airport. IRL this is usually cut short by radar vectors.
Yeah, it’s goofy but that’s the published approach. I usually vector myself onto the ILS if I’m going into an uncontrolled field rather than trying to make some of those turns.
IRL EDDF is a very busy airport.
These approaches allow the controllers to line up all incoming traffic and plan well.
If there’s less traffic, pilots are getting called their base earlier.

Usually, the tower will give vectors to cut short the published STAR or approach, which is what you are looking at. However, there are also other Frankfurt charts that I use and are much more clear.
