Should’ve initiated a go around…

Why was JFK so gusty on Sunday? Sometimes my ego gets the best of me when flying (I don’t have an ego in real life only in the simulator when fighting Mother Nature). The outcome of this landing was a bit hectic and it was so embarrassing letting my horrible touchdown unfold in front if this China Cargo B777F. I bounced twice before slamming it at the end of the touchdown zone at around 125 knots IAS. From the top of my head the METAR was saying the winds were around 25 knots gusting 40 knots.

Why didn’t you do a touch and go?

At that point I was too slow, I was thinking of doing a touch and go but I was already planted on the ground and slowing down.

Oh ok I get you

Idk but a power line went down by me.

Also if I did I most likely would’ve stalled.

Here in the UK we’re going through Storm Bert (it’s not even a proper storm where I am it’s just patches of heavy rain for a bit with some wind and it goes after a few mins and comes back again) but when I took off from EGCC it wasn’t that bad. KJFK was worse.

It was the tail end of a normal nor Easter. Btw, your talking to the ceo of the infinite flights best and only meteorology VO. Of course I heard about Bert, a few weeks ago I started looking at it on radar lol.

It’s not as bad as people say (for me at least although Wales is having a hard time).

Are you by any chance going to fly your C-130s through it?

Did a few flights into it over the weekend :)

Anyways is there any bad weather predicted for your fly out on Friday, I don’t want my heavy Tokyo bound B777 to suffer.

Eh tail end nor Easter (yes another one). Might rain, might be foggy. Wind shouldn’t be as bad as Sunday. I’ll be upstate irl, will be snowing!

Alright, when I’m going off now. Gonna try to spot the president
