How do I get the Slack link and other stuff in Discord for the education program
You’ll get a email from the IFATCEG with a link to the IFATCEG Slack :)
The controlling is no doubt a fantastic, fun experience. The road to becoming IFATC is also a challenging, rewarding path. But let me take the opportunity to tell you something else about IFATC - it provides you so many opportunities aside from expert server controlling in Infinite Flight.
Not only is IFATC a great learning experience, but you get to interact with a few hundred people from all walks of life and backgrounds from all over the globe.
Honestly, we have some of smartest, most brilliant people in IFATC that I have ever met. I’m not ashamed to say that I learn so much from the younger people in IFATC who are half my age, and even some who are closer to twice my age. The interactions I have with members of IFATC are so very rewarding and I am thankful for them.
And it’s not only about learning and growing my knowledge in the field of aviation.
IFATC has given me the opportunity to form true real-life friendships with people who share similar health, family and life experiences that I do. I never imagined being able to call so many people I’ve met via an on-line simulator a friend, and IFATC has played a huge role in this. I’ve even gotten to meet a good number of IFATC in-person at various expos or get togethers.
So in my non-biased (ha!) opinion and to answer your original question - is it worth it to join IFATC? Absolutely.
I believe the EG Slack was discontinued and their primary source of communication is the website itself. @Trio knows everything, though.
I’m just interested in how all this goes I am supposed to go to Australia to take my pilot licence the RPL but cuz you know COVID-19 so that’s why I play IF some stuff actually are the things that my school have thought me and some rules are actually enforced
Definitely not discontinued, you can read more here. It is invite only at the moment, for the IFATC Education Group Slack. :)
So I’lol be emailed a discord link
So two things to clear up any confusion.
- The IFATC Education Group is just a blog run by a group of IFATC, we’ll help you learn new things about controlling and flying through the content on our blog. You can sign up to follow along here.
- The IFATC, the team where you can join to control on the expert server, you have to apply for. If you applied and pass their testing you will then get an invite to their Discord. You can apply here.
