First of all, I would like to say that I’m not sure if this is in the right topic but yeah, feel free to change it to general or where it should belong. Now to the point.
I’ve been contemplating joining a VA/VO for quite some time, and I really don’t know if I should for various reasons. The main reason tho, is because I’m used to flying on my own and flying whichever aircraft I want, and whatever route I want. But, joining a VA/VO would restrict those things until I keep getting more hours with the VA/VO and filling out ‘pireps’. Since I’m used to being on my own and doing what I want, should I join a VA/VO, or should I keep on flying alone? Please, help me :)
I think that you would really like it because if you join the right VA/VO you would still be able to do things that you would do on your own. Also most VAs you are only required to file one flight a month and you can still fly on your own without flying for the VA/VO. Hope this helps!
Joining the VA community can prove to be a great decision. The VA/VO community will connect you to so many new friends, experiences, and journeys, as well as give you a taste of the airline’s experience. I was once in the same boat as you, but joining different VAs proved to be one of the greatest decisions I’ve made. Traveling the globe with a variety of different pilots, routes, and aircraft in a realistic airline environment was an awesome experience.

This IS the most effective way to decide on whether you want to join any VA/VO as it allows you to pick the VA/VO that entices you the most and lets you know all about them. There is one VA that doesn’t have any rank restrictions whatsoever, I’ll leave the link below.
