Dang so many stories!
I wanted to be IFATC too but I couldn’t bc of my life circumstances. So I terminated my application. Huge shoutout to @PilotA350 for answering all my doubts and making me familiar with the process. I’ll probably join Feb or March 2026

I’m speechless myself how many stories were shared, haven’t even replied to all of them but I bet they must be amazing stories.

I wish you all the best with your preparation and journey to becoming an IFATC Controller!

Welcome to IFATC, it’s great to also hear a story from someone who’s recently joined IFATC and to hear it’s nothing but good things.

One of the reasons I decided to apply for IFATC in the beginning is because I’m sure you know how training servers are, to be Tower or Ground is a nightmare and a challenge, plus controlling to pilots that don’t care about ATC makes me really want to be an IFATC Controller.

And I can really relate to yours and @BennyBoy_Alpha story, as I also didn’t know what I was doing, nor am I really sure right now but have taken a break from IFATC preparation to focus on school Exams, plus my Cooldown ends in 2 months which really feels like a long time and is, but shows I’m given a lot of time, so I’ve got to use this time wisely to prepare as much as I can.

I wish you all the best with your IFATC journey as you’ve only joined for a week, so you have a lot to experience in the IFATC space. I hope to join you one day if I find that bit of motivation I know is somewhere inside of me. And thank you very much for taking the time to share your story, really shows how amazing the Infinite Flight Community is and how supportive everyone is to one another.

Even though I am new, but if other trainers or mentors are busy, I will be very happy to organise a session for you or answer any questions. Even in your cool down period, you can still train with other IFATC. This is not official way, but as I learned recently it is allowed in a way that friend is helping another friend :raising_hands:t3:
My messages are always open!

Hey @Maxim.k42 !

Thank you for your very generous offer, as with ADHD we’re known to be visual learners and for me it always works.

I would love to attend a session that you host, and I can get some practice in there as ATCMH have a cool-down as well until it’s a week before your able to attempt the Exams.

I will pop a DM in a bit, and we can discuss further if your still willing to do all this.

Hello! not sure if I have a lot to talk but I do have some stuff to share!

I’ll go back a month prior, where I just started playing the game and bought the Pro Subscription, and my experience going through the recruitment phase and being in IFATC itself.

(Yes, I just bought the game a month ago and I’m in IFATC. I can’t even believe it, all thanks to @PilotA350 as my recruiter and @Capt_Derek who became my trainer in ATCMH who guided me through my training, and everyone else who was involved in my sessions to help me getting better!)

Anyways back to my story, after reaching grade 3, I quickly looked upon how to join IFATC and quickly completed all the requirements needed to apply, and just before applying I thought about getting some training in ATCMH, and so I did, I applied for mentoring in ATCMH at the same time I applied for IFATC recruitment.

After 3 days, my recruiter, @PilotA350 came in and informed me of my test. Being the person I am(Impatient), I took my written test before I was able to do my mentoring sessions in ATCMH, and passed it. The IFATC Written Test Practices was a huge help in achieving this, as I did it over and over before I started the test. It gave me a picture of what kind of questions may come out, which is a huge help for my end.

After passing the written I was now informed of the Practical, from there I was thinking of just taking the practical right after too, but as @Capt_Derek reached me out in ATCMH, I didn’t think of that anymore and focused on the mentoring sessions.

During such I was able to achieve experience, thanks to my mentor, which led to me passing my practical test flawlessly (albeit a few mistakes), and joined the ranks of IFATC recently.

After a week in I was naturally amazed by everyone within the group, as everyone are super professional and are very communicative and supportive to each other no matter what. Recent events also had me a glimpse of how every IFATC member has a sense of solidarity and humanity to each other (VAAH), which is very great and nice to see.

Hard work and training will clearly make a differences from my experience and I’m sure if you put enough time and effort you will be in IFATC in a short time! And of course, the help of others could also be very huge of a help in forging your way in too.

Overall, IFATC is a very nice community to be in, and a great environment if you enjoy controlling and wants to control at the highest level in the game! I really hope to see more aspiring IFATCs to join the ranks and fill out the airports very soon!

Thanks and see y’all here soon!

Hey @abraham_p !

Firstly, welcome to Infinite Flight. Your story is incredible, in just less than a month you made it into IFATC, I’ve been playing Infinite Flight for nearly 2 years and I’m struggling to get there, but me being impatient as well played a huge roll in failing the 3 IFATC Knowledge Exams.

Honestly it felt very overwhelming, but I knew I was the reason for it and I wish to correct that these next 3 attempts. The ATCMH is an amazing place to get preparation, but I only had done 3 sessions before my recruiter was unwell and was away for 3-4 weeks, which I supported them all the way but I grew impatient, and tempted to attempt the IFATC Knowledge Exam, which I scored the lowest I got which was a 60%, where as before I nearly made it with a percentage of 72% on just the second attempt.

I’m currently in exams season so haven’t started any preparation. The IFATC Practice Tests helped a lot, but now that I know the answers because the questions get repeated word for word, makes it useless for me which I feel the only way I can really learn is from ATCMH as I’m a visual person because I have ADHD, and visually and actively doing things helps me learn.

Thank you very much for sharing your story, and I wish you a great journey in Infinite Flight and in the IFATC Side of Infinite Flight!
