This is the second time I am experiencing this. First time it was during a replay file and I thought the replay file was broken. Unfortunately it wasn’t just the replay file. I was doing another flight and every time I was on final the screen would go black with glitch blocks flickering on the screen. When I try to move the camera with my thumb on the black screen, occasionally I could restore vision and tried to go around but after that the screen never recovered. I tried this approach twice and the same issue happened on the same spot, so, I screen-recorded the second attempt.
On Android mobile devices, the screen consistently flashes once during final approach. The behavior is identical to the video previously attached in this thread. The flash is extremely brief—too fast to capture via screenshot—which may explain why not all users notice or believe it occurs.
I have personally observed this glitch multiple times, including yesterday, even on the regular (non-beta) version. While recording content yesterday, I experienced the flash again, though it was less severe than in prior instances.
Steps to Reproduce:
Fly on final approach
Observe the screen just before touchdown.
A single, rapid flash occurs.
Additional Notes:
The flash is instantaneous and resembles a “lightning glitch.”
It cannot be captured with a screenshot due to its speed.
I will attempt to retrieve yesterday’s recording and share it here as supporting evidence.
Capturing this glitch is comparable to photographing lightning—if you rely on a single screenshot, it is nearly impossible, but continuous recording increases the chance of catching it.
While not guaranteed, the issue appears more likely at busy airports with dense 3D buildings, especially when using highly detailed aircraft models with 3D interiors. These factors seem to amplify the occurrence.
That said, the glitch is not exclusive to complex setups. Tentatively, it can also occur with aircraft that do not have 3D interiors, even at smaller airports. In short, the behavior remains inconsistent and tentative.
Initially i thought it was just the beta app. Tried flying again on a different airport, at Sharm El this time. Did a couple of go arounds everything was alright and landed with no issues.
They come from an app called ‘‘IF Assistant’’. It is free to download but some of these callouts are to buy within the app. It is a one-time purchase though not a subscription
I noticed you used the mini-map right before the glitching, and multiple people have reported this mini-map-induced-glitching, so I have a feeling it could be connected.
I’ve been busy and haven’t monitored if any staff has acknowledged this issue on said posts, but I know they are busy too.
If it’s not to much trouble can you try to replicate the glitch on final without touching the mini-map?
So i tried doing a flight from Marseille/LFML to Barcelona/LEBL
i was able to land in barcelona, managed to exit the runway 24R.
while taxiing to the gate, screen did a similar issue of flashing and then turned black. Paused the app and returned. Before hitting “resume” the app crashed.
I have faced something similar as well in a couple of airports that I have landed at but it only happens when I am landing at night. Once I switch the timing to day time, the glitch disappears.
