Introduction to the Mid-Autumn Festival.
The Mid-Autumn Festival falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month every year. There are many theories about its origin. It may be derived from the sacrificial activities of ancient emperors. As recorded in “The Book of Rites”, “The Son of Heaven worships the sun in spring and the moon in autumn.” Worshipping the moon refers to offering sacrifices to the moon. This shows that as early as in the Spring and Autumn Period, emperors had begun to worship and pay homage to the moon, and later nobles, officials, and literati followed suit and gradually spread to the common people. Another theory is related to agricultural production. In mid-August of the lunar calendar, crops and various fruits are successively ripe. Farmers, in order to celebrate the harvest and express their joy, take this day as a festival. On this day, people enjoy looking at the moon and eating mooncakes. Under the bright moon, families sit together, taste mooncakes and chat about reunion, embodying people’s longing for a beautiful life and their thoughts for their relatives.

In order to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, I will hold a flight. We will take off from Tianjin Binhai International Airport to the southwest of China and fly to Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport after two and a half hours.
