This would definitely help because people wouldn’t need to constantly change their display name to add or remove acronyms, and it would make the username more distinguishable for reported pilots.
We already have a rule in place that controllers must ensure that their IFC Username and IF Display Name have a measure of consistency so that they can easily be found if required. But I understand the frustration with those who waiver from that hard rule we have. :)
@KyleBoas. Do you really want me me/us to advocate and vote yes on this suggestion before you put your own House in Order?
Do you want to Establish a “Pilot Snitch” prescribed address System maned by Members to reinforce your broken Ghost system as described?
Ok, bottom line, the Inner-communication system is broken. It needs a ez fix. Have Staff issue a well though out Dictate that requires “ALL Members”
to establish a “prescribed formatted call sign”!
Pin it universally.
IF is not a Democracy it has rules which must be complied with.

Oops. I pushed the blue [Vote] button at the top of the thread thinking I would get a choice Yes/No, but it just incremented the counter. I intended a No vote.
I’m thinking that there is no need to add any complications to the IF user interface. It’s plenty complicated as it is. Also, the suggested addition of a third field to the user display info doesn’t fix the issue that IFC user names are not linked to IF display info. It only gives more space to put in your club affiliations. I’m afraid the added field will tend to clutter up the IF user interface. You now get 20 characters max for display name. That’s long enough. Keep it simple folks!
Has anyone from the Dev team chimed in on this? I suspect they are mostly in the keep-it-simple camp.
The display name and callsign interface is confusing… what?
It would be really hard to moderate that because mods would have to filter a lot of IF players and send a bunch of PMs to CEOs saying “Is this person a Pilot?” It would be too inefficient.
