Hello everyone. I’ve noticed some sort of bug with the forum.
When I enter a new topic and don’t scroll all the way to the bottom, I see a count of new replies even though I’m not tracking the topic. Here’s an example:
I enter a new topic
I see a count of new replies
the topic is set to normal
I’m suspecting this only happens when there’s 10 or less replies left unread at the bottom of the topic, I haven’t confirmed this though.
The issue seems to also be a bit inconsistent to happen but I’ve been able to recreate it most of the time.
Hello!
Have you checked this section of your profile?
You need to set the tracking feature to never in the first case.
Yes, I’ve checked it and it’s at 5 minutes. In all cases that this issue has appeared I’ve been in the topic for less than that. (it’s been at 5 minutes for months and I haven’t noticed anything before this)
I haven’t noticed any difference between categories regarding this issue.
The topic also is set at normal everytime I check it, I’d assume if it starts tracking it “secretly” it would still show it as tracking.
Turn off the “Automatically tracking after X amount of time” entirely.
It’s being counted in mysterious way.
That makes sense. I’ll make sure to do that. Thanks for your help @Thomas_G @schyllberg !
