Screen is frozen on pause, flight is continuing in the background, won't let me resume

Hi, I’m about to land, i paused a flight for a short sec, and now it’s frozen and won’t let me resume. I’m supposed to be landing in a few mins.
PLEASE HELP, I want to CONTINUE my flight, so be best give scenarios that doesn’t involve me exiting my flight.

I find devices are unrelevent… but because people keep asking… it’s an android.

Have you tried very quickly turning your device off and then straight back on again or wiping your screen?

Just did that now, i have the kind of samsung phone where you have to go to settings to turn off, and then it takes a good time to turn back on.

nooooo, i lost my freaking flight

This is probably a memory issue.

Next time close all apps and restart your devices before you start a flight, it should reduce the chance of this happening.

It can also depend on what activities you have done with your device leading up to that moment. Samsungs (depending on which model) would have difficulty with the simulator if you quickly turn the app off (with the home button) and come back to it again, accidentally pressed the Flight Plan typing feature, or accidentally turned off your device and turned it on again.

I typically turn off all background apps before my flight and it helps a bit, but I would be very careful not to accidentally press anything than can affect my flight.

This is actually really important because on some brands apps are actively killed when they are switched to the background.
Depending on the brand, there are settings to (partly) prevent apps being killed.

So always supply the information that is being asked for in the template. 🙂

Android is not a device. It’s an OS. 😉
