Hi everyone, halló,
I joined IF back in 2019 when I was younger, and we built a great French speakers community that had so much fun on this simulator. Over time, we all drifted away, but every now and then, we come back to relive those good memories. Since then, I’ve moved to Iceland, and without going too far off-topic, let me get straight to the point.
Don’t judge me for landing a 737 MAX on this little runway, but if Icelandair had its livery on the Dash 8-400, I wouldn’t even complain! Haha.
Here’s something I’ve noticed though: the scenery in Iceland, especially on the one flight I’ve done on IF from BIRK to BIIS, feels incomplete. I live in Ísafjörður, home to one of Europe’s most challenging approaches – RWY 08 with its famous 180-degree turn. In-game, the scenery is flat and lifeless.
It’s disappointing because there haven’t been any updates since 2019 when I joined. Iceland is known for its dramatic landscapes, and while the ground textures could be better, even just improving the terrain relief would make a huge difference.
I’ve also noticed this isn’t just an issue for Iceland but for many areas above 55°N latitude.
I really hope Infinite Flight considers updating the scenery in these zones someday, it would make the game so much more enjoyable.
Anyway, here are some screenshots to show you the difference between real-life relief and the in-game experience.

One hike I did, where you can see the huge elevation compare to the airport
This runway goes straight toward the mountain, and sometimes planes land from Runway 26 haha
Cheers, and takk fyrir!
