Saying Goodbye to FNF

Hi everyone,

Wow, it’s very clear that there is a lot of love, nostalgia, and passion behind our beloved FNF. This is wonderful to see. As we look around at the social media replies and comments and read through this thread we can feel the passion. I know this is sad for a lot of you to read.

I want to bullet point some thoughts to keep things as linear as possible here:

  • We have indeed brought FNF to an official end, but we have NO intention of ending official events. Flash flights will continue to happen, and we are working on communication to launch a new plan for official events.
  • The fact that we haven’t announced the new plan yet should not lead to assumptions that there is no plan.
  • Our team feels that the amazing events YOU, the community create on a regular basis deserve more attention. Some small but important changes are coming to the events category that we think you’ll love.

I’m respectfully asking you for some time. We’re not throwing the baby out with the bathwater here. We’re shaking things up and trying something new, which is always a challenge. We’re listening to you AND (not “but”) we’re going to try something new.

I’m going to keep this closed so we don’t go in circles for now, but I’ll leave you with a quote Philippe reminded me of yesterday attributed to Henry Ford:

If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses.

Thank you all for your trust and patience.
Jason
