In real life planes don’t start dropping from every angle like bees into the airport,in IF its important for the pilots to justify their actions to the controller when ask for intentions even u have filed a FP.
@Brandon_Sandstrom… “fly the free flight”. Can’t believe you’d say that Bran.
Typical excuse expected from trainee Controller. In fact the go away or the traffic is to heavy is never heard in the real world. Stackem up and slow them down. Manage the airspace, Require a flight plan and check it and aircraft type. Field a full node and coordinate the flow, the my favorite tower or not qualified or uncomfortable in the Center or Arroach/Departure seat is a give’me… Bottom line; full ATC nodes, No Plan, No Service, ghost, refuse service, Return to parking for free flyers on both the Playground & Advanced. Set the terms early, carrot or stick, ATC has the Dot Pilots will learn to comply or sulk outside the ring. Max Sends
@bill28066… Bee’s good analogy … Your identifying the Mob/Gaggle, or uncontrolled free flow cased by a lack of full ATC services. If Full ATC Nodes & Flight Plans where required the heard would be channelized to airways, marshaling/stacking fixes ect. Free Flyers would be stuck outside the network.
Carrot & Stick ATC has them both. The heard needs a lead steer we call him the “Controller”… Max Sends
I said if you don’t want ATC interaction fly on the free flight server. In real life pilots check in. yes it’s true that ATC would be able to issue anything they wanted. But when I pilot switches frequency they state where they are and where they are going. Such as “SoCal approach Delta 435 is with you we are 60 miles East of San Deigo decending thru 19,000” they don’t just call in and say with you. They give a destination and current proximity to the airfield. But the current software doesn’t allow us to clear for an ILS approach with out the pilot requesting and ILS approach.
You we absolutley correct a real life controller is not going to ask for intentions. But a real life pilot isn’t going to contact an approach frequency with out giving that information right off the bat. “SoCal approach Delta 435 with you we are 60 miles East of San Deigo decending thru 19,000”. Something to that effect is always said. So there is no need for a real world controller to ask intentions they simply don’t say “Delta 435 with you”. There is a big difference in the information received.
@Brandon_Sandstrom… I know the drill friend… Just trying to get yr attention.
Looking for you on the “Amego” connection! Max
Seems it’s not worth even discussing until the ATC system is improved some day. Until then I’ll just have to deal with the flood of ILS approach requests.
You will always have to give some kind of intentions other then just with you.
Sorry if this already been asked. When you create your flight plan can ATC can see it? Or is there another step to formally “file” the flight plan?
Atc can see your flight plan
Okay, I am new at this but I have always filed a fight plan although I have been flying solo. Today I moved to the free flight server and making adjustments. I thought I had filed a fight plan but was not recognized as doing so. What step am I leaving out?
There is no ATC on free flight.
Not all pilots file a flight plan. While creating a flight plan is simple. Flying VFR one does not need to have a flight plan in which case of ATC asks for intentions you say flying VFR and they will respond. With resumè on own navigation.
Even pilots in actual life use a flight plan. I use a flight plan everytime I fly. Its very simple. It makes you know where you’re going. It lets the atc arrange traffic.
GA will fly whole flights VFR, however very unlikely that a any “heavy metal” ie airliner will be flying VFR so good practice to file a flight plan as will make life easier for you and much easier for guys on ATC!
Hahaha jokers everywhere
Still better than a nimrod ATC sending “Say Intentions” to parked aircraft LOL the aircraft is obviously parked…
#FlyAdvanced 😂
true point. All airliners will have a flight plan. BUT not all GA airplanes need a flight plan even though it is good practice so ATC can keep track of you. But GA pilots can file routes like the airliners it will probably be an IFR GA pilot.
still have so called “advanced pilots” who don’t file flight plans…
