Say hello to the first actual SB>1 Defiant!

Anyways! Sikorsky and Boeing has released the first pictures of the SB>1 Defiant is a mutli engine, with dual coaxial rotors. The SB>1 is competing against Bell’s V-280 Valor in the Army’s Future Vertical Lift Program.
The program is plan to replace the OH-58, UH-60, AH-64, CH-47 helicopters. The first flight of the SB>1 is expected to fly sometime next year!

Sorry, but it wont replace the AH64. There is just no way.

We shall see what the Army says, I’m kinda sad they’re already working on a replacement for the CH-47 =(

The AH-64 is the helicopter version of the A-10. There is just no way that will replace it. If the Comanchee had come out, that could have replaced the 64 but this wont.

So true, the AH-64 is a great machine specially with a Warrant Officer, While the Army is planning to still buy AH-64s the Boeing Assembly line is expected end in 2020 for FLV

Okay, so I don’t know a lot about helicopters, but I know one thing…
That’s a nice looking helicopter.
I really like the look of the cockpit, and the dual rotors look really cool!

Don’t get me started on that paper weight lol There’s a lot more to the cancellation of the RAH-66, everything from senior leadership issue to software design issues

I know that And it was unfortunate but cost was a big issue in it as well. If it were not for the amount spent on the expensive paper weight, it would have been possible for the comanche to be produced.
