Hello everyone,
As I said in one of my previous messages, discourse is launching an update on the 31st May 2017.

We’re the 31st May and version 1.8 is now installed on this forum ;-)

Have you noticed some changements ? Some visual effects and features of course, but I’m pretty sure that no one (except me 😊) have noticed that a new user have joined this community !

Say welcome to @discobot !

This “user” is a bot ;-) Now, you’ll say… What can he do ;-)

Nothing in particular to us, but he’s very useful for new users ;-) Now you’re wondering how and why ?

Simply create a private message between you and him and say that :

@discobot start new user

And now enjoy it ! For sure you’ll love it ;-)

Then there’s some other features such as :

• @discobot roll 2d6
• @discobot quote
• @discobot fortune

That’s all for the moment :-) Fun isn’t it ?

Of course, mods and admins are able to modify any settings, such as his name or what he can or should reply ;-)

It’ll help a lot new users ;-)

I’m very happy and I know him very well because I’ve contributed to the French version of it ;-)

Yea I PM’d the @discobot, earlier today (don’t ask why lol) and it seems like it doesn’t do much, but hopefully it can do more in the future :).

Slightly off topic - what other features have arrived?

I tried out discobot on their trial website and it was much better at teaching than a simple message.

Nothing spectacular to be honest… check this topic :

There’s some “little” things such as a new design of the settings page etc… A lot of “behind-the-scenes” changements.
