SAS orders 45 Embraer E195-E2's

SAS orders E2 Jets

The Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS) will transform its regional operations with a firm order for 45 Embraer E195-E2 twinjets. Announced today during an event at its Copenhagen Kastrup Airport (CPH) hub, the airline emphasized the importance of regional connectivity as part of its wider mission to link Scandinavia with the world.

In addition to its firm order for the Embraer E195-E2, which is the largest variant in the Brazilian planemaker’s next-generation E-Jet E2 family, the Nordic airline has also secured options and purchase rights for additional aircraft. The deal sees it build on its existing Embraer operations, which see SAS Link fly older E195 jets.

The Order Embodies The Airline’s Transformation

Anko van der Werff, who serves as the CEO of Scandinavian Airlines, announced the order at a press event in the Danish capital city of Copenhagen this lunchtime. Confirming that the 45 firm orders (as well as options and purchase rights for another 10) are bound for SAS Link, the Nordic airline’s regional subsidiary, van der Werff underlined the importance of the new jets’ connectivity on a global level.

The E195-E2 can be expected all over Scandinavia, with E195 pilots able to fly the E2 after just 2.5 days of training

Good for SAS! The E2 really does look good in SAS’s new livery. And this is another reason why we need the E2 in the sim, more and more airlines are ordering them

Too bad they didn’t order the (vastly superior) A220 instead. Still, nice to see the E2 getting some new orders!

I’m sure @AvioesEJogos is very sad!

Fellow A220 enjoyer or just an Embraer hater?

Redemption is real.

Embraer needs a redemption arc after that whole Boeing fiasco :skull:

I was talking about LOT. But, to be fair, Embraer has been doing really well lately (other than the E175-E2). Boeing… yeah…

Both! The Brazilian bicycle is just ugly imo

LOT made the right choice. As for SAS, they didn’t make a mistake. They just made a worse decision.

I’ll concede that the raked wingtips are pretty stylish but it doesn’t come close the sleekness of the A220. Feeling pretty sorry for Scandinavians right about now.

I understand that this is your opinion, and opinions shouldn’t really be classed as “right” or “wrong”. However, what you just said is such an absurd that it does fall in the “wrong opinion” category. Actually, not only does it fall in there, it passes right through it and is even lower than that.

Fr, door falls off and not long ago a flap fell off a 739 while on approach in Raleigh.

Pretty sure he’s talking about that 2019/2020 merger that (perhaps thankfully) didn’t go ahead.

Indeed. Boeing Brazil would’ve actually been wild.

Since when are you known for being one with an opinion that anyone ever cares about?

Don’t worry people, we’re just joking around

The E2 is the superior regional airliner while the A220 is the perfect middle plane between regional and domestic airliners like the Max and Neo
