I’m currently watching everything at São Paulo on expert right now and dead lord there are some terrible landings going on 🤣
Tower might wanna start getting some people out
I’d suggest SBRJ and you’ll be falling off your seat.
If there is any issues with pilot ettique not relating to their bad landings, then send the controller a PM. 🙂
I would expect the landings to be… more rushed, due to the fact that high amounts of traffic can cause stress and a lot of commands that need to be expedited. Let’s try and look at the pilots POV. ;)
There are a lot of arrivals, so they really can’t do anything. Plus the space is limited if it was something like KLAX or something it would be a easier.
Which is why I’ve always said because of the high traffic 1-2 runway airports as the hub don’t work :(
I mean it does, not during Quarantine.
I assume SBRJ is Santos Dumont. If it is, people want to go for the approach
At least for me I had to come in hot because there’s a huge takeoff line about half the size of the runway and many aircraft in final. I’m more focused on not sending aircraft around than making a picture perfect landing
Or you could be like me who went around then had a missed approach and spent 45 minutes just doing 190kts around São Paulo. ATC was doing fine just a ton of traffic so I didn’t feel like going around again. But I did butter at -76 FPM.
I’m coming down there with the 747-8 and I might disappoint you with my landing
Just did a landing in the A320, just below maximum landing weight, i broke so hard that I think I’m going to receive multiple lawsuits from both the company, Airbus and the 170 passengers in the back
Just landed on a LATAM A319 at SBRJ and damm I had a whole hour delay because of a group flight being prioritized lol. It was a real mess, honestly.
Just a bit off topic but want to acknowledge the job of the controllers right now!
@Alejandro_Castaneda doing very nice at São Paulo
Now I’m worried that I’ll have to circle around the airport with the humongous 747-8 for 1 hour
The only think that annoyed me is that the use of STAR was weird. When the ATC tells you to follow the aircraft on final that isn’t following the STAR you’re not sure if you really need to follow him without using the STAR or if you can deviate from the aircraft ahead and use the STAR
sorry for the abundance of STAR
I see a 747 with the same route as me doing circles around SBGR
I hope for the best
Newsflash folks. It’s a GA day and Sao Paulo Int’l isn’t the only featured airport. Try something new!!
my device was dying when i departed
