San Francisco Ground & Tower Timelapse
Today, I opened up San Francisco Ground, Tower, and ATIS. As is standard, departures on 1L/R and 28L/R, arrivals on 28L/R. The session began relatively quiet, but, being SFO, traffic built up quickly.
Because the majority of the traffic was made up of departures, the airport’s intersecting runways were a huge help. I was able to efficiently shoot departures out from the 1s and 28s with a negligible delay. I tried my best to get some parallel departures going on the 1s, but only managed to succeed twice due to crossing departure paths and other factors.
One last thing of use to me during the session was the taxiway behind the 1s. It’s a great tool for getting large international jets to 28L without causing a traffic jam at the point where most aircraft cross the 1s. That all being said, I hope you enjoy the timelapse. Thanks for watching!
