I flew down to Salinas CA for the California International Airshow hoping to see the Blue Angels and other military planes. Unfortunately due to the government shut down they all canceled, leaving the airshow to a few civilian performers (who didn’t disappoint).
Here’s a C47, it did a few slow passes of the grandstand.
Here’s a CalFire OV10 Bronco. It’s my dream job to fly firefighting aircraft so she let me sit in it and gave me some really good advice on how to get into the industry.
This is the P51 demo team and the speed racing P51 nicknamed Plum Crazy. They put on a really great show and Plum Crazy did some amazing aerobatics.
T-28 trainer
CalFire S-2 Turbo Tracker.
T-34B Mentor, this is the plane my dad was trained in back in the day in the Navy.
Overall it was a great show, Plum Crazy definitely stole the spotlight at the end. I’m really bummed the Blue Angels couldn’t make it but it was still a good experience.
