The Swiss Air Force don’t has the Gripen in its Fleet and most likely wont choose it as a new Aircraft as well

I while back I learned that Canada had taken the purchase of these jets into consideration to replace their current aging F-18s. I went on a rabbit trail researching about the jet, and I will happily say this jet is now one of my favourites. Everything about this aircraft truly is a beauty. I love the shape and the canards, the performance, and the whine this jet produces is incredible. I think the JAS 39 would be a great addition to infinite flight as we do not have any jet aircraft that are built outside the US in infinite flight yet. Hopefully if this eventually gets added, we can get a custom sound as well.

Did Canada go through with the purchase? I hadn’t heard anything about it, but if so, that’s awesome! Gripen series is beautiful, looking forward to seeing them flying. (Irl, and maybe in if 👀)
They unfortunately chose the F-35.
Affirm, due to come in 2025. The CF-18 due to be upgraded to continue in service, till 35’s arrive.

Eh, we’ve had the F/A-18 in August 2022, which isn’t that long ago, and there isn’t all that much interest on military aircraft. Nevertheless, I’d still absolutely love to see this being added some day.
I don’t agree, there are loads of people flying the military jets, if course we shouldn’t completely stop the commercial plane development but a new fighter jet on the side definitely wouldn’t hurt.

I’d still argue that’s not really the majority of the player base. I’m not saying they should pretend military doesn’t exist (like they’ve seemingly done until the A-10 rework) though, it’d be amazing if we could get a new military aircraft every, say 3 or 4 years.
Well, I’d say that maybe 2-3 years between them (either a rework or a completely new plane) would be a bit more realistic.
