Feedback Delta 1

  • [13:39:16] Delta was not given traffic direction when clered for takeoff. all aircraft that announce cleared for takeoff with remaining in the pattern must be given traffic direction when clered for takeoff.

  • Delta 1 was reporting position 3 times on the first pattern but still no sequence or clearance given and finally given clearance when Delta 1 was already reporting position on final.

  • on the second pattern Delta 1 have to report position 1 time to get finally get sequence and clearance. but late, resulting conflict with Bullet 99.

Other than that, I do recommend you to give sequence or clearance early on upwind to avoid conflict with another aircraft,

Feedback 6O-SMA

  • [13:32:22] so me and JFV decided to start it off with a upwind conflict. It seems like you were a little stuck on what to do so let me explain what you could’ve done. For the aircraft requesting (me) you could give the command “extend upwind, I’ll call your crosswind” then wait until the parallel traffic turns, once spacing looks good you may give me a pattern entry with a sequence.

  • [13:38:04] on my first pattern I had no clearance. I reported my position about 2 times to indicate I still didn’t get a clearance. This resulted in a go around. Like I mentioned in my last feedback you need to clear an aircraft after every touch n go.

  • [13:43:41] here you had FedEx 12 make a right 360. You should’ve actually told him to go around since he was in final. This whole conflict could’ve been avoided with a sequence. If I had gotten a sequence to follow FedEx 12 you wouldn’t have me turn so early.

  • [13:52:47] here I was already off the runway so I didn’t really need the exit runway command given. It’s okay that you missed the command and since you did you can just tell me to contact ground instead.

Final Notes:

I just want to clear up that you need to clear an aircraft on every pattern, or after every touch n go. You have pilots reporting their position like 3 times in the pattern and take that as a reminder to clear an aircraft.

I also want to clear up that a pattern entry is different from a sequence. A pattern entry is telling an aircraft where to enter in the pattern. Usually you would base this off their current position or you would want to take their FPL into account and basing the pattern entry off that.

A sequence is telling an aircraft who to follow and where they are in the pattern. For example 6O-SMA Number 2 traffic to follow is on final then you would want to follow this with a clearance; note that you can sequence a pilot with their pattern entry all in one command.

Got it instead of a 360. Base or Final = Go Around. I am still working on pattern entry and all that. On the runway command I was still giving another aircraft a command so sorry I was a little late. Thanks again for stopping by! :)

First pattern:
⚠️ [13:32:22] Upwind conflict (already debriefed by @BT_HANDLES )
⚠️ After that conflict, you have 2 planes on 26L… so you need to sequence here…6O-SMA is obviously the closest to the runway…clear him early as #1, and sequence me early as #2, traffic to follow is on left d/w…that is why we reported our positions that much and go. around at the end…we were not cleared after several position reports 😢
[13:36:38] first position report, no clearance (Roger is not a clearance by the way)
[13:38:07] Second position report…again a Roger 😢
[13:39:16] Third attempt to get a clearance on final…Roger again 😢
So that’s why my GA at [13:40:37]

Second pattern:
[13:40:53] Nice reaction to my GA…make left traffic is giving me a pattern entry so again, I need a sequence after to follow … FedEx and 6O-SMA…So your FedEx can receive his pattern entry, and then clearance as #1…next sequence early 6O-SMA as #2, traffic to follow is on final and finally Bullet #3, traffic to follow is on left d/w…that way you would have avoid the conflict between FedEx and 6O-SMA at [13:43:41]
⚠️ [13:44:44] This pattern entry is unnecessary if I was sequenced early…
⚠️ [13:47:16] Here again I reported on final because no clearance yet…make sure the plane is cleared before replying Roger 😉
✅ [13:47:56] Here is the so awaited clearance 👍🏻 (but very late on short final)

Third pattern:
⚠️ [13:49:01] Same here…again an upwind conflict so as BT have said…extend upwind of the plane requesting until the other plane have cleared the way, and issue him a pattern entry…manage your sequence and clearance early after that…
⚠️ [13:52:27] clearance for option…nice. But since it is my first landing on that runway, you have to issue me a direction to take after (make right traffic in this case)😉

Last pattern:
⚠️ [13:56:55] Here again late clearance
⚠️ [13:59:45] Exit command a bit late @ 45 KT (issue it between 70-90)

It seems a lot but it is turning around your sequencing and clearances…try to sequence as early as upwind / crosswind and clear crosswind or early d/w and you’ll see your workload lower…don’t reply Roger before making sure the plane is sequenced and cleared…

It was a nice work there…
