Rolls Royce RB211 for 767-300

If you look closely at our Boeing 767-300, that all the engines are the same. I would like to see the other engine variants, but in this request I would like IF to take the RR RB211 engines on the 767, into consideration. It’s boring having just 1 engine type, when there is actually 3. Thanks for reading!

RR

Please let me know of any typing errors or similar topics, thank you.

You should make 2 different request or change this to “Different 767 engines” and remove a picture

Ok, thank you very much for reading!

Another option would be to make a collage and combine multiple pictures into one. I haven’t heard of anything that mentions that were not allowed to have more than one picture… in a picture. You could have the GE and the RR images side by side in one file. Just a thought.

@BoeingDream I like this idea, but the only problem would be, if you create different engine variations for the 767, you than have to worry about making different variations for the buses (IAE, CFM, etc.), the 757 of course, and the 747’s. I like the thought though :).

Is there a reason in particular for the 767, and not some other plane? (Ex. 777, A330, etc.)

Very true Kevin! Thank you for your comment

The A320 series already has the option for the IAE V2500 or CFM56 based on the livery, and the 747-400 already has it tied to the livery as well (although it’s only using 2 types of engines rather than 3). So in a sense it already exists in other models and just needs to be patched onto the 767.

The reason I did this topic on the 767 is because it is one the few planes I normally fly in this simulator. It would be a great idea to do this on the A330 and the 777. A330s have 3 different engine variants and so does the 777. Great future topic creation!

If you look at some of the A320 aircraft the we currently have, you will notice that some of them have “different” engines. Not really, but the exhaust cone differs on the aircraft depending on the carrier.

And they sound the same… Like all the engines in IF

Yeah. Well the sound pack that is on all of the airliners in Infinite Flight is from a 767 if I’m correct. So your sound request wouldn’t be needed. Just the cosmetics.

I like your thought. But I am thinking it sounds more like a CFM56-7b27. And like most planes, the different functions of the planes (flaps, apu, etc) sound different from others.

Hello, please show us outside views, all the wing views look the same!

I will, but take a look at the engine cowls, spinner cones, and engine mounts. They look a little different.

I do see what you mean, the CF6-80C2 looks very similar to the P&W 4000. RR RB211 stands out to the rest :)

I reckon when the 767 and 757 get a rework that’s when they will change the engine variants

As per the Feature Request Guidelines, please only include one photo in your request. Rather than requesting all engine variants, I’d suggest making a request for a specific variant and including a picture of it. :)
