Could you explain to me how Korean Air splits flights between Incheon and Gimpo? I understand Incheon is mostly international but Gimpo also has some international routes from what I have seen. And what if I arrive in Korea and want to continue to let’s say Busan, do I have to really switch airports for connecting to my next flight?

Yes, as you said ICN is usually for international, and GMP for domestic. But there is many domestic flights from ICN too! You can go to PUS from ICN(5 daily by KE)
