History
Airport was built in 1973,opened in 1974 in USSR.Before it was built,Riga operated flights from 2 another airports (Spilve - EVRS,Rumbula - EVRC).Firstly it operated the only USSR airline - Aeroflot.After the collapse of USSR Riga started operating foreign country’s airlines and created Latvian one - Latavio.It was collapsed after 4 years in 1995.Then new airline was created,that is called Air Baltic.Air Baltic has a main hub in Riga,and Riga Airport was expanding it’s route network.In 2010s it started expanding a runway from 3000 to 3200 meters.Now Riga Airport plans to rebuild the whole terminal and build one of the stations of Rail Baltica.

Green - Cargo & inaugural flights ONLY.Mostly this terminal operates daily routing
cargo flights,but sometimes there are charter flights arriving on planes,that
cannot handle passenger terminals.Biggest aircrafts are B744/A333
White - Storage.Planes are mostly parked and stored on these aprons.Biggest
aircrafts are B748/A333.
Brown - Military ONLY.Military cargo and fighter jets park on that spot sometimes.

Rose - Maintenance.There are hangars and maintenance aprons on these spots.Air Baltic
uses them.Biggest aircrafts are B737/BCS3
