Hello IFC,
Today I got the privilege to take an airport airside tour with the manager of airport operations here in Richmond. I had the privilege to ride along for an hour as we did the daily taxiway/runway inspection. This is important as it helps make sure there is no FOD, animals, cracks or anything else that make cause harm to an aircraft or stop the airport from operating. As a pilot and as someone who works in aviation this was really cool to see and helped bring the whole picture together and truly see how an airport works and the operation that goes on behind the scenes. I also managed to catch this Breeze A220 departing for Las Vegas

Got to go on a tour of GRR a few months ago, scared some birds away with some flares which was cool to see.
Are you interested in airport ops or just went on the tour for fun?
Both actually. I know the manager and I just asked him and he was like yeah I’ll bring along for the airport inspection
