Reverse thrust while landing

I was flying a Boeing 787-9 aircraft (good ol’ United Airlines) from SIN to SFO and I didn’t know I could do a reverse thrust until I randomly pulled the button on the left all the way down. I was literally relying on the spoilers and auto-brakes set on low ALL THIS TIME to slow the aircraft down and have always wondered why the aircrafts all this while landed halfway through runway, it wasn’t even close to the real thing!

This time, it was the real landing.

Wonder if reverse thrust is on every aircraft type in IF?

Reverse thrust is on almost all aircraft. The ones I can list from the top of my head are:
C172
F18
F16
F22

Got it, I am wondering commercial aircrafts since I fly that exclusively.

sadly not every aircraft, although every airliner is equipped with it

turboprops are also equipped, oddly enough, such as the C208 and the TBM 930

You can even deploy the reverse thrust in the air on the C130 varients!

Well, IRL, it is used, the prop blades rotate to push air the opposite direction.

Wow. Well, everyday you learn something. Think of it like you were a test pilot who has been given a duty to check if a plane lands without reverse thrust. Now you are transferred to become a commercial pilot. :laughing:

The first day I started IF I had no idea how to reverse, but I learned it just the way you did
