Returning Flying

Hey y’all! Hope everyone is doing great!

It has been a very long time since my last flight for IF and I’m really considering returning back flying again since my post-secondary term is over and pretty much have the rest of spring and the entirety of summer to be flying and building up hours.

With that said, my flying hours may have dropped down very significantly (probably at 0) since my last flight was around summer/winter of 2019 (if I can remember correctly). Obviously, there has been A LOT of changes, additions and probably even removals in the app and I’m somewhat anxious to be re-learning the stuff I need to learn as well as new stuff to learn as well.

So, I’m kindly asking for anyone to kinda summarize what I’ve missed like new ATC callouts, new flight rules, new aircraft functions, flight planning, and whatever it is important for me to know (disregard those new stuff that are not that important) before powering on my iPad and enjoying the flight sim app just like I used to before.

As I’ve said, my last flight was around summer/winter of 2019 so for sure, there’s going to be a lot of them. So I hope anyone can have the determination to summarize it for me.

Thanks!

When the tower is issuing you takeoff clearance, you will now hear the magnetic heading that the wind is blowing at, and the knot speed (i.e. 250@10), or wind calm if there is no wind.

The A380 and other outdated aircraft like the Citation X have been hidden, but can be brought back up by checking the little box that says “Show aircraft from older versions”.

The E175, E190 and A330-900neo were added, and the A330-300 was reworked, along with the 777 family. Tons of new liveries have been added.

That’s just scratching the surface. I’m sure someone will be able to chime in with more.
