Return of the 747 @ KLAS

After many months of silence and peace, the worldwide wonder has made a return to Las Vegas.

The Sands Corporation B747SP-31 is finally flying again. This time, for a small check-up flight around SoCal and back. Enjoy!

Introduction to the day was Delta’s 757-200 SkyTeam livery.

Viva Aerobus with those big red engines ❤️💚💛

With minimum spacing, a Southwest 738 lands after a 01L go around and a very unusual right downwind 26L approach.

An Aeromexico 738 applies power hurting my eardrums.

After realizing the Sands 74SP that departed before I started spotting, I moved over to a new spot not caring about trespassing laws 🙄 Here’s a Wheels Up King Air on short final.

Here she is, the B747SP-31 🦁

Here’s a short little video of the flyover 😁

I’ll bet money that the JP screener will come up with a stupid excuse to reject the second SP photo.

Joking aside these are really great pictures! The B747 looks stunning and the other traffic is very well captured as well. Thanks for sharing!

It definitely is! The close-ups are very impressive as you say, especially with such a shiny plane :)

I was trying to get some full body pics but realized I had my 100-400 lens so I made the best of it 😂
