Today the Delta 717 made its return to KMSN after a 5 month hiatus. Its great to have Mainline back (as we are a mainline station and we are mainline employees).
Aircraft was not in movement for this pic. About 3 min after this was taken it was pushed.

The 717 (well, the entire DC-9 family and MD counterparts) are such beautiful planes. One can’t not like them. Great pictures of a great plane
I’ve always hated working them before Covid, but I am so happy to have them back now. (great planes otherwise)

They break down a bit, and when its -47F out that really sucks 😂
When you are loading in the rear bin and someone flushes the lav that smell comes down and fills the bin you are loading.
Bins are also not as roomy as the A320 family (757 is the best for roomy bins)
I guess more of minor gripes really
The second point lmao 😂. That sounds awful. And yeah, I agree with the part about the bins. When I flew on them way back when, it was a pain to jam bags in. They were quite comfy though, from what I remember. The ERJs currently win the prize for worst bins though, since the MDs are pretty much gone now

I dread the day when the MD-95 is retired 😞 and yes I called it the MD-95 because Boeing didn’t make this one McDonnell Douglas did 😤
