While at home going through some old books containing pictures of me and my family from the late 2000s to early 2010s from when we first came to live in the US from Colombia
I stumped across these 10 pictures my dad took while in Miami
and it really surprised me, I found 10 photos of Miami International Airport activity from at least 15 years ago and it got me really nostalgic, I remember as a young boy living in Cali waking up early on a Saturday morning begging my parents to take me to the airport to see the American Airlines chrome Boeing 757-200 take off.
Since I know this forum has its dedicated fan base to old retro aircraft and liveries, I thought to myself why not share them. I edited them slightly to match the quality of todays standards but either way, here they are!
Early in the morning during reverse ops, my dad caught this TAM Boeing 777-300ER from São Paulo, Brazil

Now an airline we are all familiar with, US Airways A320 service up to Philadelphia which was one of their biggest hubs and even after the American Airlines merger, still remain as one of their most important hubs.
Now THIS aircraft in particular 100% has its fandom and in all for it, it’s absolutely GORGEOUS

Since we’re going through memory lane already, this is the AA chrome B752 operating the flight ME and the rest of my family first arrived into the 305

Back to my dad alone at MIA in the early morning, here is the other half of LATAM, LAN or more specifically LAN Peru

In the afternoon now, here is an American Airlines Boeing 737-800 coming in the from Boston.
Back to the morning once again, another AA B738 heading out into the morning gloom to Havana, Cuba

From the sunrise to sunset

From old reliable, here is old UNreliable as even though a few examples were newer than some B772s, American threw out the B767-300ERs like this one coming from New York JFK

Wrapping up my late night finds is another lame old Boeing 737-800 heading off to Caracas, Venezuela

That will be it regarding my dad’s captures of MIA from the late 2000s to early 2010s, if you liked this topic let me know in case I decide to dig through more of his old photo books. Stay tuned for my upcoming IRL trip for spring break where I’ll head back to Colombia and as always between now and the next time, see you in the sky!
