Retreg's ATC Tracking Thread - [PASSED] @ N/A

Hello, I am getting ready for my practical test, and I am making an ATC tracking thread to practice.

The first ATC session will be at LROP

Date: 25/6/24
Time: From 20:30 UTC to 21:30 UTC

I am mainly trying to practice sequencing, patterns, touch and go, arrivals and transitions.

Feedback and things to improve on would be greatly appreciated!

Hope you can stop by!
Thank you

Feedback CF-JFV

  • Inbound / Transition
    • 🟢 Great transition at 3k
    • 🟢 Pattern entry with sequence
    • 🟢 Clearance for option with direction on 1st pass
  • Patterns / RW change
    • 🟡 Make sure you sequence as soon as you can…some sequences could have been issued earlier
    • 🟡 Same for clearances. Base and final is very late to clear. As soon as the plane is on crosswind, you can clear them
    • 🟡 Direction on option clearance is needed only for the first landing on the runway. No need for direction after unless there is a RW change
    • 🟡 When a plane is sequenced, it’s the pilot responsibility to maintain separation. You issued me 2 unnecessary adjust speed to follow.
      • 1st one was not needed at all since I was DW and the plane ahead was final
      • 2nd one I had 5-6 NM which was plenty of room before I had to slow to follow my sequence
    • 🟡 Exit command was a bit late at 40. Aim to issue it between 70-90 kts

Keep up the good work and please add me to your tag list!

Thanks for the service

Some similar comments. Overall not bad, but the landing clearances were pretty late, on one of them I might have needed to call a go around but you caught it very late on final. In general, for pattern work make it easy on yourself and clear when they turn cross or onto downwind.

Regarding speed directions, it’s usually too late to adjust speed for an aircraft on a very short final (20:26:54). I was under 500 ft (<2nm out) and already slightly above my landing speed.

Other than that it was pretty good, keep practicing and feel free to ping me next time as well!

(Preferably intersecting runways)
Thank you

why intersecting runways? it would be easier if you’re controlling parallel runways tho. also, I’m sorry I couldn’t attend your session, I fell asleep before I realized it.

When will it be?

Same time 26/6/24

I wanted to do paralel runways to practice different patterns and runway layouts for the Practice test. We already did paralel ones today. Also its okay if you couldn’t make it. Do you want me to add you to the next ping list?
