Rest in Peace LiveFlight

Thank you Cam for nearly 10 years of LiveFlight! (2015 - 2024)

Sad to see it go, but glad to see how big of a role you’ve played (and will continue to) in the development of this great simulator we all love!

Rest up, Liveflight! I was on there the other day when it stopped working. 😢 But if you’re looking for a replacement, Infinite View is pretty amazing.

I did not know it was going to be close, and I am sad about it

@Cameron I used your website so often to share so many events, and flights on social media. For me, it was still the best map visualization website, with the cleanest Material UI and beautiful color schemes. With a specific PS script I could craft these kinds of visuals.

You’ve demonstrated that providing such a service adequately requires sustainable financial support. As I move to infinite info, I hope it will be possible to create/generate shareable images/content soon! Thanks so much for your inspiration and the great experience of sharing flights!

Can vouch, I’ve been using Infinite View since i found out about it, great replacement. I enjoy it so much I joined the discord and helped submit the photos for the aircraft and airlines! 😉

Sucks to see it go but it was in desperate need of an update the aircraft pictures were outdated and even liveries added as far back as 22.4 still weren’t shown

Was always my favorite for it’s ability to show curved flight paths many other alternatives can’t.

Used LiveFlight so much back in the day… great app, provided many great screenshots and the functionality was great, on device and on desktop browser.

It will be missed. Thanks for making the IF experience better for all those past flights!

Ok guys, beside the celebration of the new 737 MAX 8 addition, theres one important thing that has to go away.

one reason because I love the UI, but yes, sometimes it’s quite heavy on my browser that could add extra workload for my device’s processor. Back in the day, LiveFlight is my historical witness for my Infinite Flight journey so far.

Thanks for the decade

Infinite view is definitely a nice replacement, just wish they had an app for it.

Thank you folks, I truly appreciate the kind words :)

LiveFlight had a big impact on my life so it is nice to see it was of use to so many people. I can list all the faults it had and all the things I was embarrassed to have shipped, but it wasn’t an experience I would change anything about!

I am sad to be closing this chapter… but there are some exciting new ones waiting to begin for all the other third party developers using the same API.

Go show them some love! Building and maintaining a product is way tougher than it seems, and it makes me happy to see people push through the difficulty and build their own things :)

This is so cool, I had no idea about this. Thank you for sharing :) and I’m glad we have another fan of Material UI!

Definitely reach out to Ethan (InfiniteInfo developer) about it, I’m sure this is a fun project for any tracker dev to want to work on.

Flighty has a cool option for stickers for Instagram stories, if anybody wants some inspiration :)
