Reporting Position Question

Haven’t flown on IF for a few weeks, so I decided to try and get back into it. Good flight overall (apart from a easily avoidable speed violation that has irritated me too much…) and I am given clearance to land at KLAX 25R. I DID NOT state I was on final, because I had already been given clearance, should I have done? Anyway, sure enough ~30 seconds before touchdown, that big 777 that is holding short, decides to pull onto the runway. I just rage quit.

Should I have stated I was on final? and why would departure have been trying to get me to contact them, too?

If you were cleared to land, I don’t think it’s needed to announce yourself on final, the other player must’ve just been reckless

Once you are cleared to land, you do not have to report again.

Yes that’s not un common for them to lineup and wait after you touch down it helps with flow control. If they were cleared for takeoff then all I can say is keep building up to the advanced server and you won’t have that issue

And no once your cleared you don’t have to report position anymore

Once you are cleared to land do not report again, that is not an option. As for the departure on guards, it was probably someone on the playground that didn’t know what they’re doing.

No, no, sorry, I phrased the post wrong: within 30 seconds of my plane landing, the 777 pulled onto the runway, in front of me! (it pulled into the landing zone).

Then tower needs to tell them “XXXXXX, you were not cleared to enter the runway, please exit the runway, traffic on final”
