I would like to report an ongoing issue regarding the behavior of some players in Training Mode, specifically in relation to ATC communication and basic aviation procedures.
Many players are showing a clear lack of respect toward ATC by intentionally turning off communications whenever they do not receive the runway they want. Instead of following instructions or requesting a proper runway change, they simply disconnect from ATC and proceed to take off or land anyway.
This behavior creates confusion, disrupts traffic flow, and negatively affects the realism and safety of the environment. It also undermines the purpose of training mode, which should encourage correct procedures, discipline, and proper radio communication.
I believe this issue should be addressed, as it impacts both ATC controllers and other players who are trying to train seriously and follow realistic aviation standards. It’s been hard to get 500 operations in Training environment.
This is quite normal on Training Server since many players are still learning and don’t always follow instructions. There aren’t really any consequences if they ignore ATC.
On the Expert Server, it’s very different, ignoring ATC or avoiding instructions will often result in a violation.
I agree that training server is filled with bad pilots but it only serves the purpose of getting pilots used to ATC and nothing much else, all realistic pilots are probably in the expert server where real life procedures and rules are upheld.
Hello Rafael and firstly welcome to the community, regarding to what Jaxx said, pilots on the training server tend to have less consequences when ATC is not acceptable to listen too. As for ATC most people are new still new to the game and want to try out different features regarding this so they might not fully understand each ATC instruction when given to a pilot.
As for the Expert Server for set airports at certain times it is controlled by top end controllers within the IFATC team, they have undergone testing and other instruments to make sure their ATC compatibility is at a set standard when delivering quality service within the Expert Server, hope this sums things up and welcome to the community!!
Thanks everyone for the replies — they were really encouraging. I’m an experienced Flight Simulator pilot. I started flying back in 1997, but I only recently joined the Infinite Flight community, so I’m still getting used to the gameplay and the interface of a new sim on a new device.
I was glad to hear that from Grade 3 onward, on the Expert Server, procedures are actually followed and respected, making the whole experience much more realistic. That’s exactly what I’m looking for.
I also really like the idea of being able to act as an ATC controller. Even though I understand how it works, I’m still getting used to the role — and I’ve already noticed that at some airports it can be pretty challenging dealing with inexperienced players.
Wow, that’s like more than 10 years before I was born lol. Crazy to meet someone with soo much experience!
Any user can be ATC controllers as long as they meet the criteria to be IFATC! In expert server users get reported so no funny business usually goes down here
Though realism isn’t often followed, some pilots still purposefully ignore real life procedures or just lack of common sense when ATC isn’t online, I’ve had my share of pilots getting on my nerves regarding basic understanding (some even go as far as literally taxing or flying through me)
