It only took the developers (over) a decade to figure out tiered pricing. Based on that, how long do you think it will be before we see volumetric clouds (and other weather features), taxiway (and other) lights, etc?

No need to be rude. It did not take excess of a decade to figure out how to implement rental planes, they decided to add it recently, and they did very quickly. Not sure where you’re getting this information from. As for the other things, they will all eventually come with Project Metal, which is under the works, and has already came out in a few parts. For example… we have taxiway lights and 2d clouds.

I think OP is referring to the new Aircraft Rental system which allows you to rent a plane and enjoy multiplayer server access for 24 hours at a lower price than the main Pro subscription.

As has been explained to you already through the article linked above, Project Metal is a huge undertaking essentially requiring a re-write of a large part of the game’s code. It’s not a quick process by any means - particularly on a sim that is over 10 year old at this point with what is likely thousands of lines of code.
People are more than welcome to have opinions and criticize.
But if you’re only here to act like a jerk about it, you know where the exit is.
