with the announcement that the A320/A321neo is also in the works and reading some of people’s responses to the news, I wonder about the following:
- in-game popularity: are the A320/B737 often-flown aircraft in the game that’s why the devs think the max/neo should be reworked at this point, despite votes on reworking older aircraft? it makes sense when short-haul flights are easier to do on these than medium-long hauls on the older jets.
also, there’s a chicken or egg scenario: do we need to fly the older models to show demand, but what if people don’t want to fly them because of the current quality?
- ease of reworking: the models of the A320/B737 seem easier to rework because of how close they are already to being accurate plus they’re smaller aircraft; i imagine the rework of the A380 must have been intense that’s why they couldn’t proceed immediately with the 747 or we’d be waiting for a really long time. perhaps having a plane or two to look forward to in shorter cycles seemed more preferable?
not to mention, how readily available are resources to accurately remodel older aircraft like the 747, 767, a340? it seems like a lot of work to get these.
what do you guys think?
