MISSION BRIEF

Winning Conditions:

  • Red Team lands C130 on island [OMAS].
  • Blue Team shoots down C130.

Team Objectives:

  • Team Blue (IFC) will depart OMAM and be tasked with protecting the island. You will be required to shoot down the Red Team C130 in order to stop the island from being invaded by troops. However, it will be protected by fighters you’ll have take out first.

  • Team Red (GAF) will depart OBBI and attempt to capture Das Island (OMAS) by landing troops in a C130 protected by fighter support.

RULES

  • Pilots must hold an enemy in their HUD FPV area for 5 whole seconds in order to ‘shoot them down’!

  • After shooting someone down ping them on discord. [Participants will receive an invite to our discord as guests]

  • Respawning is allowed, but only at the base you initially departed from.

  • Air to Air Refuelling is permitted and tankers or aircraft refuelling cannot be fired upon/engaged.

  • Whilst precautionary measures have been taken and they aren’t expected, GAF is not responsible for any in game violations issued during the event.

Would “shooting the c130 down” count as “buzzing” it or “locking” it . I would like to attend

Quick question: How will the other person know that you have “shot them” down? As far as I know IF doesn’t have a target lock warning, or even a target lock to begin with. Is it simply honor system? @GLOBAL_AIRFORCE

as long as the c130 stays in the hud for 5 seconds it counts

so I would count from the time another jet is behind it 5 seconds and it should be close

Right, both of those things seem apparent from the topic description. I’m asking how will I know if someone has shot me down? If I’m in the cockpit of a jet or in the hud view, I will not be looking behind me all the time, nor do the mirrors work, thus my question still stands

Hey Petre,
That’s a great question!

In the past we’ve found pinging the person you shoot down on discord is most effective.

We will either create a thread in the Infinite Flight Discord server or within GAF’s own Discord server closer to the time that we can invite participants to.

Evening, Discord will be required to participate.

We assume that most people already have it (given it’s one of the IFC’s largest communications platforms) or have a way to download it if they haven’t got it already.
