Red area (Restricted zone)

example: Fly above Paris, Genève, or (I think) on all the cities is not allowed. Why not make a warning (on the map) like the terrain? That could be good for global. Sorry for my franglish :)

Explain your reasoning for this?

I’m sure you can fly above all cities?

I think he means something like a unrestricted flying space (like over some citys or places)

for help the approach control

As long as you are above transition altitude, I’m certain that this isn’t an issue. If you are within approach distance and altitude, you should be contacting ATC.

I say that because some times I fly on cities and I know It’s not realistic :(

Try to fly over Area 51…

I think it’s a good idea. New York City is a perfect example… Manhattan is restricted airspace and I hate it when approach to JFK makes you do final over it. You must be above 2,500 to pass over Manhattan

Good idea, let’s take CFB Gagetown, they have restricted airspace, so when you takeoff on 33 you needxto turn really fast

This is a sim, I dont think its necessary. Even though if it is needed, it would be very hard to add it over all cities.

We have TFRs currently for this purpose.

This could be useful for like KDCA , to have the permanent TFR over Washington d.c.

But only below a certain altitude of course.

I didn’t know that DC had an altitude waiver. My ground school course just said “stay away from DC”, lol

Beijing is totally restricted aswell

Doesn’t sound very infinite to me.

@OiseauPlume… “Red Area’s”, a misnomer, like Paris, Washington, DC and other major Capitals in today’s age of Terrorist are in fact Designated “National Security Area’s”. Washington, DC and any place AF-1 is scheduled to land within US airspace is designated a “National Security Area” for example. Similar Foreign Travel Restriction/NSA’s are the responsibility of the host nation. NSA’s and Temporary Flightt Restrictions (TFR’s)) are designated by a permenant Federal No Fly or Modified ATC procedure via NOTAM. All NOTAMS are available on line or at an FSS. Updated Aeronautical Charts in some editions will Show Permanant Restrictions by an annotated Red Circle approximateing the outer boundary of the Resrticted Area. MaxSends

(FYI: Here is the DC VFR NOTAM: (There are multiple NSA/TSR’s etc for DC read them all if you intend to operate in this airspace real world.)
NOTAM Number : FDC 1/1155
Issue Date : January 10, 2011 at 2136 UTC
Type : Security
Plain Language text is not available for this NOTAM. The traditional NOTAM text is given below:

This is a stupid request you can fly anywhere as long as you have proper clearance and follow controller instructions.
(e.g. Flying over D.C. on approach to KDCA)
