[I’m using a 3 month old Kindle Fire.]
I made a recording of a flight one morning before work several weeks ago. After a meeting, I had a few moments to fly, and then found that recording is ‘not supported on this device’. Is this a permanent change? Is it a bug? I should be getting a used IPad from my cousin soon but either way I’m curious if I can fix this.
I have this problem to, I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab A using the Amazon app store.
Sometimes this could be due to the ‘movies’ folder within your device being deleted or removed somehow. I had this issue, and all you need to do is download a file explorer, and adding a folder alongside the other named ‘Movies’ and the recording should locate if again
I dont think thats it. I have a file explorer and movies folder. It seems that IF is not supporting recording on the Fire. If that’s not the case I’d love to fix whatever other problem may be on my end…
Well, I’m not sure then. Sorry my fix didn’t work ;)
IF version?

thanks, I’ll double check everything real quick.
Based on your response, I’m assuming that this was not a planned change in regards to devices supported by IF?
As I previously noted, the function ceased in the middle of the day, no changes were made to the device. I have 4th Gen Fire, I use ES File Explorer but the device is not rooted. IF version is 16.06.0
When I tap “Start Recording” I get the advisory as normal but after 1-2 second wait a dialogue box informs me “Can’t Start Video Capture” the next line reads "Your device is currently not supported.
Both the Kindle Fire and the IF app are currently updated.
Please let me know if any more info is needed, and thanks!
There had been some devices that despite not being fully supported yet, worked anyway. Then after an update suddenly stopped working and got that incompatibility notice. The recording feature can be deactivated by certain device firmware updates. Did you recently receive an update to a new version of Android? If so what is the current OS version?
OS 5.3.1.0, from July. Evidently I have a new update [as of today I guess]
sorry for my delayed response
Thanks, this helped me.😃
