Record High? Boeing 737 Max 8 Has Surpassed the Concorde!

It seems the Boeing 737 MAX is capable of flying significantly higher than thought. With some “slight adjustments,” you can reach beyond the service ceiling of the fastest commercial jet in aviation history. For the utmost high, this plane should be able to reach 65,000 feet, but for today’s flight, we’re taking it a little bit easier.

Route: KDFW (Grapevine) - KMCO (Orlando)
Equipment: Boeing 737 MAX 8
Flight Time: 2 hours & 6 minutes
Date & Time: April 4th, 2025 @ 18:04:54Z
Server: Expert

Here’s the plane, ready to go for flight.

Pushback and startup

Takeoff! Nothing more satisfying than a steep climbout.

Reached initial cruising altitude of 59,000 feet. Are you beginning to see the curvature of the Earth yet?

Halfway through the flight, we stepped up to 61,000 feet. Just look how distant everything is.

Just another amazing view. The sky is becoming darker like we’re in space. We must be entering the stratosphere or something lol.

What goes up, must come down. Do I need say more? We’re approaching Orlando, following the ILS.

This time I actually got the landing part. Quick deceleration given those massive engines.

Engines have been shut down and we have deboarded the plane. Ready for its next leg I guess. Thanks for viewing!

Nice pics. Some people have flown it into the void of space though, I think that’s higher

They’re crazy..

Wasn’t that with the fighter jets though?

Nah, you can do it with any aircraft.

I feel like @PhorzaSky should be a part of this project :joy: He’s been known to try some extravagant things with the B38M!

I love the photos though, thrilled to see the Southwest livery in action!

True, but have they come back down and landed it? I’m actually kinda curious how high you can get while keeping it similar to a normal commercial flight, as in, not nosediving and glitching a supersonic launch into oblivion!

I don’t think so.. at least usually lol.

I know I tagged him into the convo, but please, don’t remind us of the emotion trauma! @PhorzaSky is the reason I want working guns in IF :joy:

He would never have made it to Sydney!!!

At this point, I feel like the craziest things happen on the expert server, so why not do something even more crazy.

Meanwhile there’s me trying to have a normal transpacific crossing when the first thing I see when I wake up for my descent was one of Laura’s B777s flying at about 70,000,000ft over the Pacific.

I will say that @PhorzaSky out of anyone should know the true potential of the MAX down to every last detail or “feature” (I won’t elaborate more than that). I will say that 15-hour flight is practical for “normal” operations, but for “abnormal” operations, those 15 hours are “pebble” numbers. Might as well fly from KJFK-WSSS or do an all-around-the world flight. Don’t know if he will do it, but he did say he likes not having to refuel the MAX. Maybe a clue?
