It’s not advertising, it’s just bumping the thread all the time.
And whereas it might seem clever, I think it affects the complete opposite and just makes a cut in the airline’s image. I wouldn’t want to join an airline who sets everything on bumping its thread to the top desperately trying to fish new members.
You can as well have success if you don’t do it.
Of course it’s hard if you don’t differ a lot from other virtual airlines.

This thread is 22 days old and has 200+ posts I’ve seen VA threads months old with 30 and they have tens and sometimes hundreds of pilots (eg. The old American VA), please use something like Slack or Discord for these updates, if they want to join they will find you, you don’t have to force it upon them…

Not really qauntas has a couple hundred something like 500+ and before the CEO went inactive American had 500+ and now that I think about it I think Quantas has close to 1000
