Currently, when a ground service is disconnected from an aircraft, it instantly disappears from the aircraft after pulling away. Instead, I suggest that ground service vehicles remain persistent and behave more realistically. When disconnected, they don’t just pull away from the aircraft, but they should drive back to their designated parking area, which should be located nearby, such as the existing ground service parking areas already visible around the airport as decorative scenery. Instead of disappearing. Likewise, when requested again, they should depart from their parking area, drive to the aircraft, and connect normally instead of suddenly spawning beside it. This would make airport operations in the game feel more alive while maintaining the same functionality, making it more realistic ground handling experience.
While good in theory, I personally think if people had to wait a few minutes for the ground services to show up, most of the community wouldn’t bother using them.
For people who play with dedication, then yes, besides we are having FMC, it would be a great additon for pre-flight procedure to have moving ground services. Wouldn’t take too long though
yeahhh and animation of pushback connecting to the plane and lifting the nose gear then lowering it at the end of the push and going away from the plane
But, it could probably be a setting that is, by default, turned off. Just as another realistic procedure. Similar to X-Plane Mobile, I think this would go well with trucks and stuff going around the airport.
it could maybe be something like gsx for microsoft flight simulator. basically when you spawn in the baggage carts and loaders are next to you. but things like the fuel truck and catering truck could spawn near/closer to the player
Thanks for sharing! I wasn’t aware of your comment when I created this topic, even though I searched for existing feature requests to avoid duplicates. And I think there have been no previous topics similar to this, so it’s safe to post this idea. Since we both share the same thought as others, feel free to vote
I don’t think we’ll have to wait too long for Ground Service Vehicles to approach the planes. In many airports I’ve seen, the vehicles are already parked very close to the gates. So it will not be a problem before departure I suppose.
But I have another solution for arrival: we could choose a parking space before landing, it would be marked as ours, and the Ground Service Vehicle we requested before landing would already be at the gate before we even reach it. Just like in real life.
