Realism and Suggestions

There are just basic things where everyone in the IF community would like to see in the game such weather or 3D clouds. But I was thinking what are some small, maybe overthought, ideas or adjustments that could be added to the game to make it seem a little bit more like real life.

  1. Tuning into ATC- To tune into ATC, they give you the frequency number but the button is just there to press in order to turn into it. Having a part where you literally have to type in frequency number would make seem much more realistic or even a tuning slider such as the ones already inside cockpits.

  2. Satellite or cloud imaging on flight plan world map- The globe IF gives is amazing. It is clean and makes reading it much easier. Making a suggestion to change the globe setting to satellite instead of just black and blue would be incredible.

  3. More interactive cockpit- Cockpits such as the a350, a380, and 777 have interactive cockpits. The displays and screens can show multiple things such as weather radar, taxiway map, and airplane camera settings. Having an option to see all that would also be idealistic

Let me know what you guys think. Should I add anything? Remove anything?

Hey!

Problem I see with this is people tuning the frequency in incorrectly, particularly on a small mobile device screen, which could cause a host of issues, including potential violations. Nice in concept, but probably wouldn’t work very well in practice.

Interactive cockpits have been a topic of much discussion. There isn’t a feature request for it. It shares a similar issue with the first point where interactive cockpits would be very fiddly to interact with on a small phone screen (which is what the most of the IF player base use), particularly in critical stages of flight.
